is that we were extremely impressed with our experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We tried the seafood chowder and fish and chips, both of which were fresh and flavorful. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality of food we received. We left feeling satisfied and already planning our next visit. If you find yourself on Grand Manan, I highly recommend checking out this hidden gem of a restaurant.

Stopped by on a recommendation from the B&B where we were staying. We discovered on entering that they don't take credit cards. We had no Canadian currency. My husband then went to the only ATM nearby to get Canadian dollars, only to discover that our credit cards didn't work with that ATM. Marie then graciously offered to let us eat and come back later to pay after we visited a larger bank in Grand Harbour, even to send a check when we got home if that bank didn't work. We were flabbergasted -- THAT would never happen on the mainland.I had the goat cheese and carmelized onion crepe, crepe made with buckwheat -- delicious! My husband had a classic crepe with ham, egg and cheese -- very satisfying. When we did return with Canadian currency and tried to pay extra given the extraordinary service, Marie insisted that we take a brownie and some cookies -- also very tasty. Highly recommend.
After a long wait, another couple whom came in long after us was served first. Also they do not take credit cards, but the only notification of this is a small card on the counter at the cash register. We did not have sufficient Canadian funds to pay for our lunch and were forced to pay with US dollars at a very unfair exchange rate. Very understaffed and slow service. It took us over two hours to have a simple lunch. We almost missed our ferry.
We visited Grand Manan for 2 days, and had lunch in Cafe Bleu Marie both days. What a great place! Hostess makes you feel like home, the interior design has French charm, every item on menu is made from scratch in front of you. Everything what we tried was delicious - crapes, waffles, and homemade gelato is to dye for - soooo good. The place is very little, so you might have to wait for a while to get a table, as the place is very popular. But it really worth it!!! I wish we could come there more often, but we live too far.
