Del Mar Cafe - Governors Bay

Well I wasn't expecting much from previous reviews but my experience was fine! Chicken focaccia is actually as described unlike another review stated it is a chicken mushroom tarragon sauce in a focaccia. Not everyone's taste but I liked it. The menu is exhaustive and exhausting to read. Maybe they should focus a bit! Anyway it clearly says changes and modifications politely declined get over it!! Coffee was good and tomato juice spiced with celery yum.

A group of us ladies went for lunch here the other day. I had read the reviews about the cafe, some of them not very good, so I went wondering what to expect. Well our lunch experience was great. the menu was varied and interesting and my choice of the steak sandwich was absolutely delicious (I could have licked my plate) one friend had the beef stroganoff and ate the lot (she rarely eats everything on her plate) another the soup and garlic bread, and the other had eggs benedict which she also enjoyed. We also tried the dessert menu, I settled for the brownie dish (yum) and the rest had the ice cream sundaes. The service couldnt be faulted. All of us ladies go out for lunch a lot and we all decided this was pretty good and would definitely go back.<br/

Went on a windy Sunday afternoon for two gourmet burger combo deals. Another deal from Grabone!! I had the lamb, feta and minted burger on focaccia with salad plus fries and soft drink. The better half had the grilled chicken with pineapple and passion fruit toppings, salad and fries with a drink. Both were nice burgers (although the lamb pattie was pretty small) and for the total price were good value for what we got. No way however would I pay normal price of about $24 each for the experience. So how do I rate the place. Well the service was excellent. Which surprised me given the previous reviews. Must be somewhere where there is no in between. It 's either pretty good or pretty bad. Anyhow we had a good experience. So would we go back again. Yes, if we had a half price deal. No for a full price meal. Shame really as the voucher deals are there for someone to 'try ' a venue on the basis of if it is good then you 'll return. This was good but I won 't return without the discounted meals.

Great value for money. Although we used a voucher deal the normal prices seemed reasonable especially the $45 meal deal.The service was quick and friendly and the portion sizes generous. I also liked the choice of two sauces in separate dishes)with our steaks as I couldn't decided on just one.The crème brulee for dessert was to die for.Would definitely recommend and go back to try other menu options.Great as a casual or more upmarket place to dine

Fantastic meal. 4 of us went for brunch and were all VERY HAPPY with our meal as we have been previously. We had coffee 3 of us decaf at no extra charge. Also used our Entertainment Voucher with no problem. A table of 20 came in 30mins after us and they were all served together. Would highly recommend.
