Unique is a hidden gem... read more This was our second visit and most certainly not our last; even our (admittedly well-behaved) three year old was welcomed and enraptured. Unique is a hidden gem on a non-assuming sidestreet just outside the bustle of downtown Gouda. The host is courteous, knowledgeable, creative and provides impeccable service. The chefs are just metres away, visible as they brew their creations. Each course is served with attention to detail, sharing not just the delectable flavour combinations but often information about their more interesting ingredients. The experimentation, the true care and the ultimate feeling of cozy, warm privacy adds to the overall experience greatly. An absolute recommendation that we almost begrudgingly share, as this is the type of secret place that makes a city have a soul.
