Holy Würst Ab - Gothenburg

Worth the stop. Food was good, service was excellent. Food came fast and they checked if we needed anything at right times. Beer selection looked good but we stuck to food. Very saucy and filling, not good place for diets.

Nice environment and not quite the hipster level I expected (and that is a good thing in my eyes) maybe due to timing (I went there during Way out west festival). If you specialize in something, my expectations go up. In this case, the waiting for the starter was just a tad too long and the melted cheddar cheeze wasn’t good (eatable). The hot dogs were not made from fresh meat, you know the juicy ones which snaps when you bite them. These were more like a standard version of a smoked, and a bit dry hot dog style that can be bought off the shelf in any supermarket. Taste was ok but not ”artisan” as stated and therefore expected by me. It was beautifully plated and service was nice though.

Good staff and a decent environment. We were satisfied just with one of the meals. The “Lamb Korv” unfortunately didn’t meet our expectations. I might be wrong but I could guess that the Lamb sausage was just warmed up, not freshly grilled (the darker ones in the photos). We left most of the Lamb sausage uneaten. The other one we got recommended from the staff and It was juicy and tasty. It could be easily a 4 or even 5 but I need to give our experience just a 3 stars unfortunately.

Quick and good service. The lamb würst was a bit thin and flat in the taste but a very good presentation. The sweet potato fries were really good.

Hip place, but overrated in my opinion. Playing with the image of German sausage expertise, but the sausages were far from the German originals. Pricy, thin sausages served in hot dog buns. Not a good selection of non-alcoholic drinks either.
