Govindas - Gothenburg

I ate at Govinda's in Lund and was super happy with the food, so I was excited to try in Gothenburg. There was nothing wrong with it, but it did not live the same taste and atmosphere as that in Lund. It was actually a smidge country I didn't expect. However, as it is a lunch place, you should note that everything depends on what is offered for the day. The parts were small, but I was full, so no complaints. The meal was balanced by nutrition.

A popular place for locals, but only open Monday to Friday for lunch. With a different option on offer each day. Simple and tasty food, which includes bahjis, mild but spiced curry, soup, poppodums, bread, salad, chutney's and seconds if you can manage it. Staff are lovely and speak English. 75kr and a mango lassi is also included.

This is a chain of restaurants around the world that belongs to the Hare Krishna movement. The movement is vegetarian in their belief, so therefore it is not a all vegan place. The food is typical indian inspired, ie small masalas, currys etc. Very authentic taste thou and worth a visit.

For 110kr a good amount of food, i got surprised that they have vegan cookie, vegan mango Lassi so as the samosa, though you need to mention if you are vegan because the restaurant is vegetarian. Super recommended! Updated from previous review on 2023-04-17

Great food, but I don’t understand why it’s not an all vegan place since they got everything in a vegan version. How hard can it be to just use that instead?
