Village Fish - Gosport

This fish and chips restaurant is well-known. The service is quick and efficient. We ordered four servings of plaice, which was delicious. The pea fritters were also excellent. However, the four small portions of chips were disappointing as they were very oily and soggy. We had to re-fry them at home before they were edible. Overall, this visit was a letdown and we would only give it three stars, being generous.

Tonight was the worst chippy tea experience ever! Chips were awful with many scraggy bits my wife said her haddock was very dry the batter soggy. We only ate it because we were hungry. It wasn’t worth the price we paid. If the shop had been open to return the meal, that is what we would have done. Definitely not ‘through to the next round’…

Wow ............ Just WOW Best fish and chips ever I can't tell you just how good this place is, but I'll try Nicest, freshest piece of cod I've ever eaten, and lovely batter Great chips and a very generous portion Perfect pea fritter AND, it's very reasonably priced I was offered, and accepted, a slice of lemon with my fish Never been offered that in a takeaway before, nice! I don't think they could do anything any better, I really don't This amazing chippy is ten miles from where I live, there are many that are nearer, and I will definitely be going back Don't take my word for it, try them yourself, I promise you won't regret it The only possible negative is that I've heard there can be a queue at busy times But that is the best sign that they're good, right? Thank you Village Fish Bar Alverstoke for the best fish supper ever I'll happily queue for your food again

Despite all the nay sayers that wouldn't wear a face mask during a pandemic etc etc this place is the best and the staff are friendly and helpful

Another fantastic take away tonight. I live in Surrey and look forward to the fish and chips from here when I come to visit. I can honestly say the best I’ve had. And I am shocked by the negative reviews about the staff, I’ve always found them very friendly. Can not fault
