The hotel has no elevator so carrying your luggage is a big nuisance, though we got some help when we checked in (but not at check out). The rooms are decent. The restaurant has a menu without a word of english. The vegetarian food is scant. The non veg food is pretty good. The best is that the hotel lays a tea and cookie/chocolates spread open post dinner. Its very expensive, especially the restaurant.

I had to explore the appendage and the kaubad allowed me to relax completely in the evening after having traveled roads, visited countries, climbed cable cars - thanks also to the Appenzell-card which is delivered to those who stay for three nights - . certain kaubad is located "at the end of the world": only nature around us and not even TV in the room but a good radio that also broadcasts excellent music. the strong point of the kaubad is the well-kept kitchen from the family. kindness in letting dishes, quality and presentation pamper you at every moment. Of course I am Italian and I discovered that "all the staff" listened carefully how I could explain to myself with the waitress about food, but we always managed to understand.
