We dined at this restaurant twice and were pleased with the food both times. We enjoyed some of our favorite dishes and were not let down. The service was also good.

We visited Hikataya Ramen only to find it closed for renovations. Instead, we decided to give this restaurant a try. As frequent visitors to Japan who love Japanese cuisine, we were extremely disappointed with our experience here. The Ramen ($14) was lackluster, with a broth that lacked flavor and only 2 small pieces of meat. The wagyu dish ($18) we ordered was chewy and overly salty, although the rice was the highlight of the meal. Despite the excellent customer service, we left feeling let down as our expectations were not met.

Among other cheap eaters, this place may be overlooked by passers by thinking it must be more expensive for the shop to look clean and tidy. Not only the food and noodles are cooked by authentic Japanese cooked by proper Japanese. Food is very good place with lunch special. It is a small restaurant with less than 10 tables. Think it should do 10 times busier than it is next time I visit. Best value and among the top Japanese noodles I have ever had in Australia - and I eat a lot : )

Genuine, courteous, and welcoming: The ramen was served piping hot, which is usually a good sign. I visited the restaurant at an unusual time and was impressed with the diverse menu offerings, including a selection of imported Japanese drinks, beers, and wines. I plan to return in the future to explore more options on the menu.
