Great Place for a romantic dinner or dinner with friends. Came here for a birthday treat and chose a table outside. On a quiet street, perfect. For starters we ordered sweet potato, egg plant and falafel with 2 dips and it was fantastic. Main dish had chicken with peppers, number 61 on the menu with sweet potato and it was delicious. What User dislikes about Sambesi:
we were with friends there.The first impression was ok, even inside beautifully decorated.The chairs are partly very uncomfortable.The conditions were very friendly.The eating was so once again I don't need it, the bark was tough, the flame cake was a bit cool.Zebra ok, krokodil ok, strauss okay. In a less frequented side street of Göttingen's city centre sits this lovely restaurant offering delicacies from Africa including rare varieties of meat like crocodile, zebra or ostrich. Unfortunately, not all different types of meat were available when we dined there but the choice of...dishes nevertheless was good. The interior has the feeling of being a little cool and reduced but it was an evening that definitely needs to be repeated. If you want something different, than try the Sambesi!
Vegan, vegetarian, fish, gluten free and meat dishes in a hugely interesting menu. Taste is great and very original African meals. Also some savoury tarts. There was a mistake in my meal which was sorted out very quickly by the friendly waitress and chef. I...was impressed with the food, the variety, the range suitable for all allergens et cetera, and the helpfulness of the staff.

I had a great time in this restaurant, we had great meat and fish disches. Prices absolutely reasonable, giving the quality provided. Overall a very good experience
I came to Sambesi following tripadvisor reviews. The plates are big, but really nice. The combine a not very usual set of flavors worth trying. I wanted the springbok curry, but they dont have it. Instead the offer a deer, which is very good and...nicely cooked. I got also platains as a starter but it was a side more than an appetizer, a full plate. Service is very good and they have English menu. They also have cocktails, but I didn't try any this time. Definitively worth if you like try new flavors at a not expensive place. Enjoy.

When I recently met the appointment to go to the sambesi to a good chat and eat, I was still quite skeptical, but that could be completely eliminated. I chose as eating the vegetarian peanut vegetable pot with bobanans and could definitely enjoy my meal. ambiente pleasant, especially at the weekend is a reservation quite advisable. the service was good, but at some point on the basis of the fullness of the guest wishes somewhat overwhelmed. we had geduld and slept our drink earlier. a recommended address for something exotic in the city of göttinger.
In addition, the decoration is well made and the environment is also very well supported. but a zebrasteak or crocodile I don't really have to have even if it is called local sambesi. what you can suspect to be a bad sweat is actually true here: the name of the local is the full program. I think that's a little sad when you're meat, why does it have to be so exotic? the selection of vegetarian food is also only tiny, very bad! for me not again.

Wonderful, clean ambiente. very friendly, courteous services. and eating is just a dream! the card is very lovingly written and great selected. we have been there more often and have already been able to taste a lot. everything was just delicious! this trip to Africa is worth more than just once!
