Holy cow, if you are needing a meat fix at lunch this is the place to stop. For $8 you get your choice of meat (pulled pork, ribs, pork steak, chicken breast, and chicken nuggets) you can get them naked or dipped. Plus two sides, cheesy potatoes, cowboy potatoes, corn, green beans, baked beans, pasta salads, etc... Your mouth will be watering while you are standing in line. You can purchase a fountain soda and eat yo... View all feedback.
What Cory S doesn't like about Godfrey Meat Market:
Good selection of meats, but their selection of beer by the bottle has gone down in the last year or so. Also, they have a large selection of wine and a side room to eat or use for whatever. View all feedback.
YUM! It's been a long time since I got carry out from their prepared foods counter and it is still delicious. I could say, it has consistently stayed the same, or I may even be able to say, they've kicked it up a notch. Either way, if you come here you're getting one tasty meal at a great value. The other day when I stopped by, I was craving a Pork Steak. When I told them what I wanted, the first question was if I wanted it dipped in more sauce. I'm not a sauce man, so I politely declined. It came with two sides and I choose; green beans and cheesy potatoes. As I was glancing over the counter selections, I noticed they also had chicken wings. I wanted to sample them, so I had the clerk toss four of them in my order. When I got home, which is sort of a short drive my food was still at a good warm temperature. The pork steak was a thin cut, but tender and flavorful. Out of the sides, the green beans were the best. They were seasoned well with salt and pepper and was also prepared with onions and bacon. The potatoes were okay, most people would like them, but I'm not most people. The chicken wings won me over and on my next visit, I will have them as an entree instead of having a few tossed in for tasting. The entire staff here is customer service motivated. They're all friendly and truly give that down home service. That is one of the joys of living in a small town, businesses make their customers fell right at home. Will I return? This is going to be in my lunch rotation on days off. When: September 12, 2020 Why: A man has got to eat lunch.
This place is a hidden gem. I loved it have eaten here quite a few times. Sweet staff took very good care of us. The food is very fresh and delicious. I would recommend this for a quick relaxed lunch and bring the whole family here. They take care of you like a five star restaurant. I hope you all enjoy it here as much as my family did. They treat everyone right.

I Stopped in because Perennial Brewery's website mentioned this was the one location within 10 miles of my mother in law's home where I might find bottles of their beers. Local gourmand's seem to flock to this location for their specialty foods everything looked yummy to eat and drink. I was here for the beer, though. As a craft bottle shop, they're selection is actually pretty good lots of Mikkeller items I've seen before and a few I hadn't. I was interested in the local stuff (not necessarily St Louis beers) but the guy there didn't know much about the Ridgebrook brewery offering it's brewed right there in Godfrey, man! They had some Perennial oddballs I hadn't seen on the shelves in Chicago. I will be back next time I'm in town.
Lunch crowd HITS. Reason? Featured meats/BBQ sides. Large room for eating essentially your take out (foam clamshells, plastic utensils). Fire police crews seem to love the place! Variety of craft beers wine inspires trying something new . Lots of gift ideas. Will be back and bring some friends (from MO).
