Tucked in a strip mall, this cozy Japanese spot divides diners: many praise authentic, fresh dishes—standout udon, bento value, crisp tonkotsu, excellent broths and hand rolls—along with charming decor and reasonable prices. Yet others report inconsistent preparation, missing menu items, frozen sashimi, limited beverages (mostly tea and water) and occasional long waits. A worthwhile stop for traditional flavors, but expect variability in service and order accuracy.

Rustic, charming, clean hidden gem amongst the chaos of strip malls and drive-thrus. So glad we picked Manoobens for our anniversary dinner. The food was excellent!
Best udon I’ve had in the northwest Chicago area. We came for lunch, the prices were fair, the service was great and the food was delicious! Will definitely be coming again!
Only 48 dollars for 3 people’s dinner! very nice waitress and amazing food!! definitely coming back here.
My favorite restaurant. The waitress is so sweet during every visit, and the food is always great. The atmosphere is so welcoming and homey; I have no complaints.
