Description

Formerly Ju Rang, Dokaraoke presents a mixed review landscape in the North Chicago suburbs. Diners have encountered issues like small portions, inconsistency with orders, and less-than-welcoming staff. While some revel in the vibrant atmosphere and karaoke options, many express frustration over automatic gratuity charges and service lapses.

On a positive note, families appreciate the accommodating staff and flavorful dishes, highlighting the garlic chicken and brisket among their favorites. However, the food quality fluctuates and the lack of traditional banchan leaves some craving more authenticity. Overall, guests seem to recommend it primarily for karaoke rather than a dedicated dining experience.

Fantastic karaoke experience! We enjoyed a private room where we could select our own songs and sing freely. It’s pricey, but definitely worth it.

The food at Jurang was flavorful, but the chicken wing portions felt a bit small for the price. Our server was efficient, although not very attentive or warm. Still, I would definitely return for the kimchi fried rice. We attempted to reserve a karaoke room online as instructed but never received a response. If you want to book a room ahead of time, I recommend calling directly.

Great spot for a drink. The staff are friendly and attentive, and there’s a bell at the tables if you need any help. The food is consistently above average, and they even check your temperature for safety.

Karaoke room (4 stars) — Karaoke room was great! We booked the room for 20 people but only had 12 people and it felt full. I wouldn’t recommend to fill it with all 20 people. Maybe 15 max. The room was clean and comfortable. But definitely got hot.The equipment was good. They even provided mic covers which was great. Sound also was good. I would definitely come back to dokaraoke! Food (3 stars) — food was okay. Seemed like a lot of fusion options? And they didn’t give any banchan!! Weordered Bulgogi and it didn’t even come with rice which was bizarre. Overall, I would definitely come back for karaoke anddrinks, but wouldn’t recommend it if you were just going to eat dinner. I would just go and get take out from Joong Boo acrossthe street then do karaoke after.

Food (3 stars): The food was decent but not particularly impressive. There were many fusion dishes on the menu, but I noticed there were no banchan served. We ordered Bulgogi, which was unexpectedly served without rice. Overall, I would consider coming back for karaoke and drinks, but I wouldn’t recommend it solely for dinner. Instead, I suggest getting takeout from Joong Boo across the street and then heading to dokaraoke for some fun.
