Dickey's is a small place with not a lot(but enough) space in the dining area. The staff is friendly, patient, and helpful. The brisket and pulled pork are pretty good, but you need the sauce or its a bit dry. The ribs are also a bit dry. Lots of good sides and you get a ton of sauce with your order. Overall, good value! My favorite BBQ. Great Brisket. Check out their daily specials. I love the chopped beef sandwhich. The pulled pork is really good as well. They have three types of BBQ sauces: regular, sweet, and spicy. The spicy is my favorite, but watch out, it has a bit of a kick to it. Their is some seating inside, but usually I get it to go. It is very fast and good quality food. Hard to believe that it is a chain. Sure does not taste like one. It is right off Waukegan and sometimes easy to miss, but make sure you don't.
It's good barbecue at a decent price. I have never been disappointed by this location. The people are friendly and the food is good. I usually get the pulled pork sandwich, baked potato casserole, and baked beans. The pulled pork is tasty with three choices of sauce. I usually get a cup of each flavor and added it with each bite. The baked potato casserole IDs just what it sounds like. Potatoes covered in cheese, seasonings, and chives. The baked beans have excellent flavored. They are full of little bits of barbecue meat and saucer. You also get free soft serve ice cream. The place is clean inside with about 8 tables. There is also outdoor seating. I will continue you return. Bicycling: Waukegan Road is not the best for cycling. But, there are enough residential streets in the area for safer bicycling. They have an outdoor area which is great when you cycle there.
The food, especially the brisket and chicken breasts, were delicious! The restaurant were very accommodating by letting me substitute a few items in the Tailgate package and the amount of food you get is more than enough. They were also very quick in preparing the food. I placed my order (Tailgate Package and 2 slabs of ribs) at 9:30a and it was ready by 11:30a just in time for lunch!
My family and I recently moved to Glenview and were excited to find 2 BBQ restaurants near us, Dickey's and JD's Q and Brew.
