The fried goat cheese fritters blew my entire mind. Like I had a moment where I wondered what angelic, cullenary munchy master, made this? Like who tf was like you know what ...?? I'm gonna fry some goat cheese and it'll be delicious damn it and serve it with an onion berry jam. Its like a Martha S Snoop dog collabo . Overall my experience and service was prompt and attentive, respectively and my drinks were on point... View all feedback.
What Todd Bellinger doesn't like about Blue Comet Grill:
I really wanted to be an enthusiastic supporter of the new management and the reboot but so far my experiences have been marginal. The atmosphere is lo-fi but not really in a good way, I had a very challenging food experience (which my friend insists was a one off because his experience has been totally opposite of mine) and the staff seems somewhat disengaged as if they are hanging with their friends at the end of t... We planned on another restaurant the night we ended here because of long waits. We were glad we did! The staff was attentive, the service was fast, and the food was delicious! They have the average pub food but with some unique additions to the menu. The goat cheese fritters and shrimp bruschetta was amazing! My only gripe (and that's too strong a word) is the confusion of the actual name of the place. It was the Blue Comet but also the Franklin Glenside of which you'll only find that on a Facebook page that says Franklin Glendside (a 2nd D in there). Either way, I recommend it.

The Comet was one of my favorite spots for years, would go back to Glenside just for this low-key, slightly off-center place. Always knew how to prepare my favorite New York Sour, had a playlist I enjoyed every song and only knew about a quarter of them, and always had someone interesting sitting just down the bar.Went there one night after work last week after it's recent re-opening and it's definitely lost it's magic. Bright lighting, a super nice bartender who didn't know what a New York Sour was, and a gaggle of bros hogging bar space. Definitely disappointed like an old punk sold out and went corporate. Maybe it was just that night?
Wife and I came in on one of our first blissful, childless evenings in nearly two years. It was worth it. We had some refreshing (read: tasty and strong) cocktails followed by easily the best fried chicken sandwich I’ve had in years. My wife’s smash burger was perfectly cooked, and the fries were crispy, hot, and well seasoned. You want local bar vibes and some of the best food/drinks in the ‘burbs? Go here.
EDIT: NEW OWNERS, UPDATED REVIEW. My original review is null and void. I went in the other day since the pandemic started. It's just a regular dive bar now. No more mixologists, no more atmosphere. The BLUE comet used to be you had to stop in, now the new place is somewhat forgettable, right along with the Glenside Pub. Wyncote is getting younger, if you want people like me to show up, go check out what The Ways is doing down the street.OLD REVIEW: This is a professional bar. I look forward to coming here to have the kind of center city quality with the unique flair that this place has. Staff knows their stuff, I know that if I want a drink this is the place.
