I have visited the Narkoojee cellar door in Glengarry twice now and have been impressed both times. It is located about 40 minutes away from Sale, but only 15 minutes from the city center of Traralgon (approximately 2 hours from Melbourne CBD). Local produce not featured. Recently had lunch By Jorg Narkoogee and found the venue quite nice but small, cramped and noisy, making relaxed dining and conversation difficult. The menu failed to describe dishes adequately. The food was nice but relatively expensive in comparison to other similar local venues. Stand out Italian inspired menu that is very well executed. The kitchen understands the Italian pallette of flavours and menu logic. Very consistent.
AMAZING. Came for lunch and left with a very happy stomach. A seasonal menu which makes the richness of the local produce the hero. Attentive and relaxed service in a beautiful environment. Cannot wait for the spring menu!
Lovely setting. Good attentive service. The only problem we had was deciding what to order. All the pasta dishes looked and tasted delicious, and the roast chicken roulade was spot on. Perhaps it would be nice to have some wine and food pairing suggestions on the menu. This way they could make more of the fact it is a winery with great food rather than a restaurant with a single vineyard wine list.
Really lovely lunch and wine tasting. By Jorg restaurant at Narkoojee winery was an excellent location for a leisurely Saturday lunch. We tasted the Narkoojee wines, assisted by the friendly and knowledgeable winery staff, then enjoyed a delicious lunch in the restaurant. The views of the vineyard are lovely, even on a rainy day, the service was good, the food delicious. Good coffee. (Proper Melbourne coffee And amazing desserts. Really enjoyed it.
