Description

A compact Venezuelan spot delivers consistently fresh, deeply flavorful arepas, empanadas, tequeños and hearty pabellón criollo, plus vegetarian-friendly choices and a small market selling cheese. Portions are satisfying though prices lean high; seating is limited, making takeout and delivery popular. Service ranges from warmly attentive to brusque and drink prep can be inconsistent, but many praise the authentic flavors and repeat-worthiness. Ideal for first-timers and food lovers seeking bold, homey Venezuelan fare in the Los Angeles area.

About three weeks ago, I ordered a hot cocoa, and they served me half a cup of some strange chocolate that wasn't hot enough. The taste was terrible. Don’t they know how to make hot chocolate?

Meal Type: Brunch Price Range per Person: $10–20 Food Rating: 5/5 Service Rating: 5/5 Atmosphere Rating: 4/5 Recommended Dishes: Arepas, Sauce, Empanadas I recently enjoyed a take-out brunch at this fantastic restaurant, and I couldn't be more pleased. The food was outstanding, earning a perfect 5 out of 5. The flavors were vibrant and delicious, particularly the arepas, which were simply divine. The accompanying sauce added an extra layer of flavor that I couldn’t get enough of, and the empanadas were equally amazing. Service was exceptional, also scoring a 5 out of 5; the staff was friendly and attentive, making the ordering process a breeze. The atmosphere would be rated a solid 4 out of 5, as it was cozy and inviting, though I can only imagine how nice it would be to dine in. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for brunch. It’s great value for money, and you won’t be disappointed with the food!

The seating is quite limited in this place, but I found some free street parking. Initially, I thought 15 dollars seemed a bit steep for the portion size, but the food turned out to be surprisingly satisfying. It tasted incredibly fresh and was delicious. I definitely plan to return!
