This is our favorite place to eat in Montrose. The service is great, the food is fantastic and so affordable and with generous portions. I’ve tried about 8 of the dishes on their menu…all are excellent. The owner and waiters and chef are soexceptionally warm and friendly. You’ll be so happy you tried it. We go there for lunch as often as we can. Mmmmmm….yummmm!
We ordered murg chettinadu. It tasted like chicken tikka masala mixed with coconut milk.It was too sweet too. Chicken Biriyani was not flavorful. Disappointing!
If you regularly eat Indian food, do not eat here. If you get Indian every few months, this place is just sufficient. I asked for spicy, and it was sweeter than kheer(rice pudding). Not sure if they were being rude or they don’t do any modifications. Also, I ordered saag paneer, it was literally just sautéed spinach, not a blended curry. It was triggering to eat. But if youdon’t eat Indian food regularly, this will be fine.
Great service, delicious food. Newly relocated from LA to Montrose, Cardamom is very tasty. The food is made to order, and features delicious top tier ingredients. You can taste the difference there. Plenty of indoor seating, and a hand full ofoutdoor tables. The restaurant features great staff, well versed in the menu, and constantly attentive, and going above andbeyond for a great customer service. Parking is available nearby, and outdoor dog friendly. We got lamb vindaloo (very spicy, and tasty , chicken Masala (creamy and tasty , garlic nan (delicious and light , saffron rice (not a huge upgrade over the plainrice , and the vegetable samosas (very light and crispy; not oily! . The food was very good. They also treated us tocomplimentary rice pudding. They are working through the process of getting the final touches up (signage, and art . They haveredone the kitchen and interior (previously a chinaware restaurant . Very friendly staff, and rooting for their success. Wasbusy when we arrived, but we were able to be seated instantly. One area to possibility improve is portions; this place is a bitpricey, and the portions are smaller (as compared to our favorite spot Indian’s Flavor . But the quality is great, and they dooffer outdoor seating! Updates: we have been back multiple times, and the team always makes us feel like family. Deliciousfood, prompt and attentive service. The ingredients are fresh, and the food has depth and flavor as a result.
What a lovely establishment! Delicious, spice-rich food with incredible service (shout out to Mr. Nasir for the warm welcome and wonderful customer service! . In all, we had their vegetable samosas, zafron pilau rice, peshwari naan, chicken butter makhani, fish coconut meen molee, saag paneer, and mango lassi for drinks. The samosas: crispy exterior, piping hot and potatoey interior with flavorful spice, coupled with that amazing date and tamarind chutney! No words. True to their name, they don't skimp out on the cardamom, which wonderfully perfumes the zafron rice. Although heads up, make sure to search through the rice and pick out the cardamom pods or you're going to be punched in the face with spice intensity (speaking from experience... . My friend and I love spicy, so we requested just shy of their spiciest level for all three of our main dishes. That peshwari naan really heightened the experience with the curries, with its sweet and nutty filling counterbalancing the spicy and rich curries. As for the curries, creamy and flavorful. The fish was perfectly tender, and man, there's just something about coconut milk that just hits DIFFERENT with curries (in layman's terms, goes very well together . That saag paneer though: there's a reason why Indian cuisine specializes in vegetarian food. That's all I have to say. And the perfect accompaniment to all this rich, spice flavor bombs is an incredibly refreshing, smooth mango lassi. To conclude: just go, you'll enjoy your time there. It's a good amount of food, my friend and I were stuffed and had leftovers to spare. In terms of pricing, I would say that it's on the lower-midrange. We're definitely going back and trying out more from their diverse menu.
