The staff is friendly, deco is cool, and it's a relaxing place to unwind. The food has never impressed me, so I usually grab a bite before I go.

There's always a band playing (and al... read more Pause is a great little bar that's truly a local haunt. Bar snacks are a great bonus to the wide range of drinks on offer. There's always a band playing (and always something eclectic and unexpected), and the place fairly packs out later at night. Paul (the owner) is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, his staff are all friendly and the vibe is always relaxed and easy going. They also host functions, and from all reports do a great job of it. If you are looking for a hidden local gem, this is it.

The staff were so friendly, welcoming and willing to help us with music, photo projectors, bar tabs and cloaking. The atmosphere all night was so nice and the staff couldn't do enough for us.I would highly recommend this bar being used for events in future. Thanks to Paul and your staff for making our night so memorable.

This was an essential stop for a quick drink in between appointments. Why? Because, heh heh, I can. I like the slightly quirky fit out. I liked the bartender. I loved the music playing. And, best of all, my Laphroaig restored my energy and fortified me beautifully against the cool Melbourne winter air. As I said, it works.

The mezze is always fresh and delicious, and the wine selection is both excellent and affordable. Happy hour and house wines are a great value. The space has a nice ambiance, striking a perfect balance between cozy and airy.

I've recently hosted a birthday function here, and everything was impeccable, the food (amazing), the drinks package and the effective and friendly service is excellent. <br/ <br/ The Mezze plate is great for sharing over a Sunday afternoon wine, and the fries are the best in Melbourne! The home made dips are all vegetarian, which is awesome, and there are many vegan and gluten free options. <br/ <br/ It's obvious that this bar is a locals favourite, as the customers (all locals, I'm assuming) and bar staff have a great rapport. <br/ <br/ HAPPY HOUR is definitely worth a mention, all night on Wednesday and 4 8 every other day! Beers are $6, as are the house wines. My all time favourite pause bar special is the 2 for $22cocktails, especially on a Wednesday!
