Friendly little place with great staff & food! Family style home cooked dishes and consistently good! Park in Broadway Shopping Centre & walk down. Much easier than trying to find a park on Glebe Pt Rd! View all feedback.
What Coy Sipes doesn't like about Himalayan Char Grill:
The menu descriptions led to much expectations: marinated overnight, slow cooked, etc, and mentioned Himalayan spices in such an evocative way that when the food came I was disappointed. The chef seemed to have held back on the dosing of spices to accommodate less adventurous palates.Certainly the beef cheek and lamb my companion and I had were very tender, evidence of good slow-cooking. The service was very good and... View all feedback.
Best momos in sydney. try for good service, beautiful music and beautiful staff. the flavors used are authentic and have not hit their booze! try the roti and dal if they want to keep it easy.
We visited this restaurant with a group of colleagues. It is a quaint restaurant decorated with Nepalese flags and has portrates of Nepalese people lining the wall. The staff were Nepali, were friendly and welcoming just like the people of Nepal. It is a BYO restaurant with a corkage charge. There is a banquet menu for $35 and you can also order all la carte. We went a la carte on this occasion. We shared the momo's(Nepalese dumplings) The delicious samosa chat which comes as a salad with yogurt, tomato, spanish onion, crisp noodles and a home made tamarind sauce. We aslo had the succulent spiced chicken wings crisp batter as our starters. Upon recommendations from the group we ordered...read more
The butter chicken and keema lamb at this restaurant are the best I've ever had! I actually took leftovers home for the first time in years. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try something new, but not too adventurous. The cuisine is very similar to Indian cuisine, but there is a noticeable difference in the taste of the curry, which is slightly sweeter. Personally, I prefer the curry here by a mile. Just be aware of the opening and closing times, which can be confusing if you are not familiar with this part of town. They close at 3pm after lunch and reopen at 5:30pm for dinner. So make sure to plan your visit accordingly.
I visited Himalayan Char Grill last night before the movies. I'm glad I did this is a great restaurant. I know it's hard to choose here when Baja Cantina is just next door, but if you're looking for curries then definitely drop in! We got the banquet (it's a minimum of four people to order) and mango lassies, and enjoyed every bit. Except the gulab jamun, but after having a friend make those fresh for me a couple of years ago, I haven't found a restaurant that can measure up We practically rolled out the doors, though. I can forgive anything if I don't leave hungry.
The restaurant was truly amazing. The staff were extremely friendly and the dishes were incredibly delicious. We enjoyed a great dining experience at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this restaurant.
