Wife and I are regulars here and to date have not had a bad meal at all. The food is amazing and the service is as equally awesome. I can see why this Pub is always packed. Keep up the great work guys. Highly recommend View all feedback.
What Boris Lindgren doesn't like about Australian Youth Hotel:
Eating is a ripped. I ordered a parmi and asked to swap the chips for two rings. they would just do it for an extra so that is what has come out. a small piece of hull, three two-rings and three pieces of salate. the other meal times on our table were similar, underwhelming and expensive. The hello court is really just a couple of records from helloumi. felt the next day queen. the personal is beautiful, except the woman who was considered responsible. she had a hauch of basil fawlty’s what they did. even amusing, but we will not come back in a hurry.
The service is good, but eating is overpriced and everything seemed prepacked. the chicken carving was literally a piece of crumbling chicken, three salat leaves and macdonalds stylfries. hamburger very salty and swimming in a cheap mayo.
Ambience in upstairs bar is fabulous. Period chairs in comfortable clusters so you have privacy. We came today for lunch and were very excited to see roast beef and Yorkshire pudding on menu. Unfortunately very thin and tasteless gravy ruined everything. We ordered more gravy...(you can’t eat Yorkshire pudding without gravy) and we’re charged for more gravy. No horseradish sauce either. Sad...
The vibe here is very friendly, smart casual and approachable. We sat in the outdoor area for a few drinks and a beautiful pot pie. The pasty was perfectly cooked with a simmering gravy filling and complimented the red wine I was sipping on. There is also a classy restaurant inside the pub which looks promising and I will be keen to try it soon.
Went there on the half price special restaurant week. We had 3 entree and 2 mains and 1 side dish. The veal toung is not fresh, you can tell from its texture and taste. The scallop ceviche is refreshing and pungent taste. The chef in this restaurant seems to love acidity in the dishes too much, all the meals have a strong acid taste. My dining partner did not like it, but I am ok with it. The duck liver pate is good but not great. The mains are well cooked however the ingredients are not of high standard. On overalls, the food is worth a visit during restaurant week.
