This pub offers authentic local ales and has a landlord who really knows how to run the place. I was pleasantly surprised to find bitter from Lancashire on tap. It's a refreshing change from the chain pubs in the city center. If you're looking for a proper pint, this is the place to go.
Top pub with friendly staff and great eating!
This is a really charming pub with a friendly landlady and a wonderful old dog named Buster, who we grew quite fond of. The staff goes above and beyond; they even provided plates and cutlery for our takeaways. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next day. The locals are very welcoming, and the landlady knows everyone—she is equally friendly to newcomers as well. The pub has a slightly worn charm that we appreciated. It's a truly decent establishment.
