What Oliviu Dumitriu doesn't like about Restaurant la Ponton:
read them reviews we decided to eat here at lunchtime. to be a thunder, the sights are impressive. eating was not impressive at all. the whole food was awfully salty. the supe cannot be eaten. the smell was terrible. the fish has no taste. very splashy. the garlic cream has no stench. if they were made of the remnants, then they would have more taste. the prices are high. when they come to giurgiu, I come back to avo... Very, very salty eating, it was not important, it was grilled (fish,) cooked (mussel) or another form of cooking. the cook should really stop pouring it on everything. the Danube levels were also low, so that on the deck a bit was an adventure. the levels no longer on level. great location and in view. fast and helpful staff.
This place has so much potential but unfortunately the experience you get does not match the beautiful location. It's situated on a boat that floats on Danube and has a beautiful view towards the Bulgarian bank of the river and the Ruse city. Naturally, they...serve a variety of fish dishes and some other normal dishes like chicken, pork, etc. Sadly the place is not taken good care of and has a communist vibe surrounding it. The tables were dirty and stained but the waiter could not care less he simply moved the tablecloth a bit in order to cover the stain. We asked him to recommend something from the menu but all we got from him were a couple of mumbled words. Ended up ordering catfish and mackerel which were brought to us in almost one hour. The food was just your average fish with polenta/vegetables nothing special about it. The prices are a bit lower than expected but in line with the service and experience offered. I would only recommend this restaurant for the view it offers so maybe drinking a coffee or tea here is a better idea than dinner.
The restaurant serves good fish food, I recomand the fish soup and carp roe caviar, i had also fried fish but it was overcooked. If it starts to be crowded the order takes some time to come, and the waiter is very busy and rash. They...can work more on serving!!
A few dishes available, which were served with quite a delay, also food on 100gr were not calculated per serving. fish was fresh and had a good taste.
