Nestled in a quaint location, The White House restaurant offers a mixed experience for diners. While the decor may feel outdated, the cleanliness and charming atmosphere, highlighted by a lovely garden courtyard, create an inviting setting. Guests rave about the friendly, attentive staff who cater well to families, providing activities for children. The menu shows promise with delicious offerings like steak and sticky date pudding, though some dishes may fall short. Despite a few service hiccups, the venue proves suitable for events with excellent function amenities and accessibility features, making it a potentially worthwhile visit for both casual and special occasions.

What Lawrence Wyman dislikes about 69 Central:
The waitress was really nice and helpful. The restaurant is a bit dated but certainly clean and tidy. The food however was **** terrible. Cooked to death with absolutely no love what so ever. This has to be a prime candidate for one of those places Gordon Ramsay rescues on his TV show. It would take a seriously good offer to get me back again. I would have rated minus 1 star if I could. We were turned away from Rivers and happened to pass The White House. It was empty and we thought something was wrong with the place. We decided to go in because the wait staff were so friendly and gave the children blocks to play with and coloring in sheets with crayons. I ordered the $40 meal that consisted of an entree, main and dessert. I had garlic bread with dips yum! then steak, wedges and salad yum! and ended with sticky date pudding yum, yum, yum! My cousin had the same as me and he enjoyed his meal and my daughter in law had the pork belly and lava cake which she enjoyed and the kids had hot dog and chips from the kids menu and were full after this and not wanting dessert. The staff were amazing, we enjoyed a bit of banter with the Indian guy who was very polite and the lovely lady from Matamata. We struck gold walking into this place and I highly recommend it.

The food was awesome and yummy. But as for the waitress that served us she was rude and rushed us to hurry up in our reserved area which we had booked from 10am till 1pm. But wanted us out by 12.30. We also asked for cutlery while setting up our area and she told us to wait till she was ready to give them out. This was ment to be my nephews 1st birthday and everything else was spot on besides the waitress.

Hosted a small event in the Tapas room for 15 people. Excellent service and great food. Katherine and the team provided all the amenities our group needed. Will book here again.
