After the most amazing experience at El Celler a few days beforehand, we went to have lunch at Can Roca to eat at the Roca family restaurant, sort of to see whe... read more After the most amazing experience at El Celler a few days beforehand, we went to have lunch at Can Roca to eat at the Roca family restaurant, sort of to see where the brothers learned their trade but also to eat some traditional Catalan food...that locals eat. It is excellent, great food, friendly people, and unbelievably low prices, including wine! If you want to sit and eat with local people (but who probably have no English) try to sit in the original bar/restaurant area. It gets very busy, so it's not easy, but for us it was better than the new large eating area at the rear of the building, which seemed more suited to larger groups possible a more touristy section, if that's fair to say… ?

Brothers got their start here. This is where they had their second star. Now they. Have moved but the Mother has an overseeing of this home cooked gem. The staff of the three star eat here before the public is let in. $13...or so for wine , water , three courses and lots of love. I come to Girona yearly and eat here every lunch opportunity I get. I met someone local who says he eats there everyday. I understand that, you couldn't cook a meal like this on your own at these prices. It is Roca brothers giving back to the society. They are loved locally and add my name to it as well
