Description
**Dining Experience at IKEA: A Mixed Bag**
The IKEA restaurant experience appears to be a double-edged sword, with some patrons expressing dissatisfaction with customer service and cleanliness, citing issues like inaccurate pricing and unresponsive staff. Many highlight a noticeable decline in food quality and variety, alongside unsatisfactory cleanliness during busy hours. However, there are also glowing reviews about the friendly and helpful staff, with some visitors praising specific employees for their outstanding customer service. While the potential for a pleasant experience exists, the inconsistency in service and cleanliness raises concerns and suggests a need for improvements to maintain its reputation.

I had a thoroughly disappointing experience with the customer service at this restaurant. First of all, please take down the sign outside advertising plant meatballs for £3, as they are actually £4.50 at the register. Additionally, remove the sign inside the restaurant claiming you get a free drink with your soup; when I questioned this at the till, the staff member simply shrugged and said, “What do you expect me to do? That’s the price that came through on the till.” Her rudeness escalated when I suggested speaking to the manager—she rolled her eyes and walked away. Another staff member then took over at the register and assured me they would handle it, but when it came to the free drink, she informed me that it wasn’t available after all. This is blatant false advertising. The prices and staff training clearly need improvement; a lesson in customer service is definitely in order.
In the past few years, I used to dine at this restaurant every week. However, in recent months, I've noticed some serious cleanliness issues. Many employees seem to be chatting instead of working, and when I arrived at the restaurant at 6:30, more than half of it was already closed off. It was difficult to find a clean seat; both the tables and floors were quite dirty and remained that way until closing time. It feels like this place doesn’t have much connection to IKEA in terms of quality. Additionally, the attitude of the kitchen staff could use some improvement. Even though they offer a limited menu, they seem to struggle with basic organization. Perhaps IKEA doesn’t pay its employees well, which could be why they don’t seem to enjoy their jobs.
This is a lovely food hall with plenty of space. The food is delicious, and the staff are courteous and respectful, providing good service. The only downside is that it can get quite crowded; there were a few instances when they had to close the doors to new customers due to high volume. When someone leaves, they allow the next person in line to enter, which can lead to long waits at times. I recommend visiting on a quieter day for a more pleasant experience without the long queues. As for parking, there are plenty of spaces available.
We went yesterday. The last couple of times we 've been have been disappointing. Very little choice, dirty tables etc. Today we asked for vegetarian meatballs. As soon as we bit into them we felt sick. We 'd been given the ordinary meatballs. I took them straight back to the girl who served us and told her. To which she said oh. who served you? She did! And it was less than 5 minutes ago. Half hearted apology and replaced meal. We will definitely not be going again. Awful.
