Food was on point. Glad I gave it a try. Only thing I didn't enjoy is that they put onions in the grit mix, I would have preferred no onions and or a few in the shrimp mix. Other than that, food was yummy! View all feedback.
What Emily Pirie doesn't like about Da'bayou Creole Kitchen:
Would not recommend. Food and drinks were extremely inconsistent, service was OK but not great. Had to correct my check twice. My “sangria” was literally red wine poured over ice with a fresh lemon wedge. My salad dressing tasted like oil and straight horseradish. My side of veggies came out 10 minutes after we were done eating, and we got up charged for something we didn’t order. View all feedback.
Amazing Creole Food I lived in Louisiana for six years all very authentic. We had Crawfish etouffe and Jambalaya and the hurricanes are fantastic. Take advantage of the ride, even if you are not near Gilbert we are in North Scottsdale!
We got seated right away but it was about 1/2 hour before they came to take our order. We ordered drinks and they came with water and then our beer came about about 15 minutes. We ordered our food and they were out of grits, only one order of jambalaya was available so 4 of us had to change our order. We got there at 4:50 Pm and we didn't get home until 7:45 and we didn't have to drive too far as we live in Mesa. They need more employees and I think a better organized kitchen, especially on a Saturday night.
As a Louisiana native, I expect little from Louisiana themed restaurants. Da bayou far exceeded my expectations. I ordered what turned out to be one of the best shrimp po boys ever and my girl enjoyed a sampler platter. My one recommendation to the crew is to have a crab cracker as some do not enjoy breaking crabs with their hands. Great food and I'll go back for more!
The food was bland and I threw away $100 worth of food. Also, the staff wasn't friendly. I felt like I didn't belong and I was very uncomfortable.
4th time dining with them, appears Covid knocked them off their game. Wanted oyster rockefella out of creamed spinach (how does this happen) asked about specials if they had some waitress had to ask and came back with none tonight. Food was great Ponchatrain and blackened shrimp and grits. Desert bread pudding fantastic. Asked about the upcoming crawfish fest on May 1, waitress had no idea what I was talking about. Please Manager, inform your staff to relate to us dinners. Chef was cleaning tables WTF, she was not busy or your understaffed?
