This place is crave worthy. All the meats are high quality and smoked to perfection. The sides and deserts are worth the trip in themselves. Typically an after thought compared to a main draw of BBQ...not here. I get pints to take home of the sides....and a desert to enjoy later. Big congrats to the chef who created this reciped and menu. Although the ingredients on their own are all good, it's simply not a good combination when put together for a taco. They need to pay a professional chef to tweak what and how much goes in these tacos to improve the overall flavor. Also, the onion slices are too big. We had multiple brisket tacos and carnitas tacos. I like Caldwell BBQ. I like tacos and know a great taco. But this combination is more fizz than rizz.... View all feedback.
We all know how awesome the food is!! This post is about how much better one of the owners is. My family was going through a challenging time and out of the blue one of the owners sent me a text saying food would be to my house by 6:00. Who does that? Who takes the time to think about others vs running a successful restaurant? This is an unsolicited review. Wasn’t asked to post this or felt he expected me to post.
First timers and it was perfection. Best BBQ in AZ. Jesus and Hugo were awesome and super helpful. Hit this family owned bbq spot up!
Who knew you could improve on Caldwell BBQ. The birria tacos were amazing. Brisket on a tostada! So good.
First time guest and I gotta say that the food was amazing. It had such great flavor that sets it a part from its competitors. I’m definitely going to come back and try more dishes. If you are having trouble, deciding on what to get, you can’t go wrong with the Birria tacos! Must try! The side of beans also had a lot of flavor to them. Quaint place with a beautiful pinic seating area. Staff was friendly and welcoming, they also went over the menu with me, which was really helpful. Thank you!
OMG! THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST BBQ IN AZ!!!Portions are generous, the brisket, chicken, Mac n cheese, calabasitas and the homemade sauces are all out of this world! Anyone who rates this below a 5/5 has never had good BBQ!
