Found this place on google whilst walking in the park near stadium and so glad we went, and it was open! Which I’m told is not common on a Monday. Staff were very friendly and kind with my very broken Spanish, and we managed to get their last table as it seems you should really book to avoid disappointment. We were also served by a very nice waitress who spoke some English which made things easier. They had a set menu of starter and main for €15 but we opted to try a bunch of things from the interesting menu. We didn’t manage to translate all of it but they gave us a Wifi code to help us with our efforts and we managed quite well. We started with the iberico ham which came with toasted bread, spread with a lovely fresh tomato salsa which we drizzled with the olive oil on the table, absolutely delicious. The wise waitress halved the portion for us once she got our whole order as it’s a very big dish otherwise and it was perfect for the two of us. We followed with the tuna belly salad which was aubergine, shallots, peppers all soft roasted and cold, perfect drizzled with the vinegar and olive oil on the table, otherwise not really seasoned. Then the calamari which was very tender and tasty, but a large portion so better for three people if you were ordering lots of dishes like us. We then had the prawn rice dish that was like paella, and came out in a dinner plate sized black pan, but was not called paella on the menu, it was in the separate rice section. It was our favourite dish being full of umami and rich smoky tomato moreishness. Again it was large so we asked to take half home so we could fit in the last dish that was still to come. We finished with the pork rolled around a special stuffing on a bed of creamy sweet mash. So good! See pics. All in with four bottles of san Pelegrino it came to €79 not inc tip. So on the pricier side but we felt it was worth it as the quality was high and portions were generous and we obviously ordered a lot more than normal people! The whole experience was faultless. Thank you!
Not a fancy restaurant, no frills. Small, a simple decor. Where is it allure then? Well, it has a home feel, a distinctive welcoming atmosphere that makes it obvious you’ve come to the right place. And no matter how many times you eat there, you always leave thinking that in all likelihood you’ll be back again. Last Sunday we picked it as the venue to celebrate a personal event. Perfect choice. Food and service met our expectations . I’m of the opinion they would meet anybody’s.
