It is a bit off the beaten track, but once you find it - at the rim of the Viennese woods, overlooking Vienna - you won't regret. this is one of the most origin... read more It is a bit off the beaten track, but once you find it - at the rim of the Viennese woods, overlooking Vienna - you won't regret. this is one of the most original, authentic, cosy wine restaurants ("Heurigen") you will find. the family that runs it (Wasinger) are wine farmers, and they also prepare the food and they host you with great friendship, professionalism and hospitality. the fresh, young white wines are great and there are also a couple of terrific reds. the home-made walnut bread and the various spreads are delicious - not to mention all the different pork and other meat specialities.wonderful well kept garden and very nice winter garden. two generations of Wasingers will make you feel really at home...jazz and other performances on special occasions.

Maybe, the building is a bit too fancy, and the food offering a bit too big.There is a dedicated parking lot in the back, but still the bus is the better option, since it includes unlimited wine consumption. Every 30min you have a bus directly to Vienna, with the bus stop being 2 min walk from Gasslwasinger.
