What Dustin L doesn't like about Romas Italian:
I would say this was one of my least favorite dining experiences. Walked in and noticed it was a bit warm but was willing to deal with it. Within 10 min I felt like I was going to faint. The waitress admitted the AC was put in upside down and didn't work. We were served freshly baked pretzels as an appetizer and was dissapointed noticing they were not fully baked. The waitress admitted the AC was put in upside down and didn't work. We were served freshly baked pretzels as an appetizer and was dissapointed noticing they were not fully baked. Last time I had dined here I had the Shrimp Alfredo and was pleased. Wanting to venture out I tried the cheese stuffed ravioli. The portion was okay and it was tasty. The part that was a turn off was that the waitress had her 3 year old kid with her and he was bussing tables. Not to mention she interrupted our conversation many times to the point of frustration. I wasn't impressed.

We've been here a few times and tried a few different entrees. I did have to instruct them how to pack to go orders as the first few times the entrees spilled into the bag. The food is pretty good quality consistent. As there are only a few sit down restaurants in Giddings that are not Mexican, this is a nice change. We recommend the Genova the Canneloni.
I understand all these 4 and 5 star reviews because giddings has nothing but fast food-especially Italian food. I ordered the pasta sampler which said had 1/2 portion of lasagna, manicotti, and cannelloni. All I got was manicotti... I also ordered a side of meatballs. They were disgusting.. worst meatballs I ever ate they have to be frozen. If they aren't and they're handmade, that's terrible. The most flavorless meatballs and watery sauce ever. The side salad I received contained like 3 tiny leafs of lettuce, huge pieces of tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and a slice of pepper. There are children and babies running about and baby walkers and toys everywhere in the front as soon as you walk in. I understand people need to make a living and may not have any baby sitters, however it's not something you want to see when you walk in for lunch/dinner. My order was ready pretty quickly, most likely because everything was already pre-made and simply just heated up. I just don't understand how I only received one of the three entrees I was supposed to get that I paid for. Both the waiter and waitress knew that I ordered the pasta sampler. It sure wasn't a sampler though. The manicotti wasn't great either but it wasn't bad. You guys can do so much better. Probably won't be coming back.
My boyfriend and I stopped in while driving back to Houston. The food was Very Yummy and the desert is to die for!! The decor is lacking, however, it is under new ownership. The new owner is wonderful. She has great ideas and plans to transform the restaurant. She has already revamped the menu. It's worth the outing!
