The Halal Guys - gfield

My wife and I visited this location for lunch today. First off, we chose to dine in because I knew my gyro was going to be messy—just how I like it. The restaurant and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. As with most places like this, the space is small and only has a few tables, but who cares as long as it’s clean? The staff, both when ordering and during on meal were super kind and attentive. In fact, they gave us a free slice of cheesecake, which was very good. The owner was super kind, and the young folks working the counter did everything possible to make us feel welcome and ensure our food was prepared to our liking. Could not ask for a better experience. Now for the food, we loved every bite, and there was a lot of it to enjoy. Everything was fresh and tasty. The sauces were spot on, the pita was soft and delicious, the beef gyro was tender and juicy, the fries were cooked to order and seasoned to perfection with creamy white sauce over the top. My wife’s shawarma was equally as delicious and she had plenty to bring home for dinner. In summary, this may now be my favorite place for great Halal food!

I have been a frequent customer at this Halal Guys location, and it used to be very generous with portion sizes and had good food quality. However, during my visit today, I was quite disappointed. I ordered the regular platter with chicken, but the lady working there added a very small amount of chicken, which tasted like leftovers from the day before. When I asked if I could get a bit more chicken, she told me it would be an additional $2.70 for extra chicken. I was only asking for a bit more, not extra. The service and food quality have really gone downhill. If I am spending almost $15, I expect the quality and portions to be good. I recommend the Halal Guys location in Alexandria for those who truly appreciate the quality that Halal Guys is known for.

I visited this restaurant craving a platter and hoping for a similar experience to Naz’s Halal Food. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The taste didn’t measure up to Naz’s, and the portion sizes were much smaller. They were stingy with their sauce, which is the only thing that made the food palatable. To top it off, it was more expensive. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

No rice at 9pm , 1 hour prior to closing. Refusal to cook rice at 9PM after saying it takes 30 minutes to make. Saved the rice for their online orders; customer in front of you holds no priority.

I paid 16 and I get a little bit of chicken and it didn’t look fresh at all
