La paella que pidió era un poco extraña con trozos de cebolla, chorizo y zanahoria. La carne, unos entrecots muy correcta y unos huevos de Bakio con jamón. La mesa de al lado protestaba del churrasco. Se ve que les costaba. Postres buenos, cuajada, pastel de queso y yogur. Pienso que se abusa de los chorros de decoración de jarabes de colores que desvirtúan los sabores. No me gusta que el servicio se dirija a los clientes como ‘chicos’. Me chirria un poco. Con todo un sitio muy correcto en Gernika, junto a los museos en pleno centro

We had croquettes, cod Al pil-pil, salade caprese and ham eggs. The children were very happy with their meals. Food was great. Nice buzz to the place, busy and bustling. Toilets were clean.

The place is spotless with lovely moorish style tiles in the loos. Staff were friendly and understanding of my rubbish Spanish. I can’t wait to go back. The calamari was gorgeous and the pinxtos was far more varied than most. Based right in central square so convenient for tourism and a glimpse of how the locals live.

We started out with soups lentil and bean both hearty and delicious. Then came the main dishes (at the same time) a pan fried flounder and a steak. Nice presentations and really tasty. Dessert if flan and rice pudding were also good and house made. And where much of Spain is cutting back on the traditional full bottle of wine, today we both got a bottle! Price was great too. 12€.
