We were concerned that this may not have been open as there were no recent reviews and no website. As we are buying a house soon local to Ger, we popped along to see. In february, it is only open for food on a Friday and Saturday although the bar is open.We went back for an excellent dinner on Friday evening in the charming restaurant section. Would certainly recommend and we will be back.
We were made very welcome in this local bar in center of ger,the place is well run by jane, and the food is home from home,if you are in a gite in the area and fancy some english food and drink give it a try.
Our first trip to France,3 children, fussy eaters and it was recommended by the Gite we were in, so of we went to find the place. Although it wasn't open for food we had a warm friendly welcome and everyone was excited about the menu. When we did get to try the food we were not disappointed absolutely fab, five empty plates and we had to go back for more. In fact we are already planning our next trip to France and we want to be close to the same area if not the same house just for the Jug and Glass, the people there the friendly atmosphere and the great food.
We came as a group of 10 on Easter Sunday and we couldn't have stumbled upon a more friendly establishment! The restaurant was beautifully decorated in a traditional french style with a few subtle nods to the UK which were fun. The food was hearty and exceptional value...our only disappointment was that we had no room for a sweet after! We loved meeting Quaver the dog and hearing about all the history of the town. Thank you from us all for such a special lunch - we can't wait to come back! Skiptons loss is definately Ger's gain!
Well that's what happened; we were mooching around and decided that we'd stop for a coffee before finding a hotel. As we walked in we were greeted by a Jane who suggested a number of hotels in the area, before mentioning that she also has rooms. As the greeting was warm and friendly, we asked to see the room, the en-suite was clean, and if we'd forgotten anything, it was there. Shower gel, soap, razors, etc. So that was the accommodation sorted, we were then introduced to Gemma, from the kitchen. Gemma could rustle up about anything, but her stir-fry's were very good. We ended up having two evening meals at the Jug
