My wife and I recently traveled from Charleston and made a stop in Georgetown to explore the historic part of the city. We encountered the Georgetown Creamery, which looked very inviting, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered two hot dogs, and they were delicious at a very reasonable price. The establishment was exceptionally clean and beautiful, and our server was incredibly friendly. After wandering around the... View all feedback.
What Iris D doesn't like about Old Georgetown Creamery:
The ice cream is quite good, but the service could definitely be improved. When I walked in, I greeted the gentleman behind the counter, but he barely acknowledged me, even when I repeated my greeting. We tried several flavors, including the butter pecan, which was just okay, but their homemade waffle bowls were enjoyable. The place is very clean! I recommend stopping by; you might have a better experience than we di... View all feedback.
My husband and I have been out since Saturday morning enjoying spending our birthdays together and on the way back to Hendersonville, NC stopped here for some ice cream after grabbing a bite to eat. My husband has a peanut allergy and the gentleman behind the counter, Randy, was amazing and went above and beyond to answer my questions and tried his best to ensure the we were taken care of. Even went as far as to go to the back to look for the ice cream that he wanted to try ensure that he would not come into contact with anything that had touched peanuts. stars all the way!
We are locals and have come in a few times. Hadn't been back since summer due to a bad experience. Decided to try it again today since it is currently the only ice cream shop in downtown Georgetown. I had a good attitude going in but was soon let down. We had a similar experience to prior. The owner and employees truly look and act like they would rather be doing anything than be helping us. The owner was severely passive aggressive when asked simple questions about a nut allergy and acted as if he would not accomodate. The atmosphere of this establishment is just off and sub-par with welcoming children. I guess at least this time I didn't have to administer an epi-pen after so that's good ?I will go ahead and say that my two toddlers enjoyed their ice cream. That is only fair.Lastly, no one wants to see your employee smoking in front of the store right before they go back in to scoop ice cream with the same hands. Go out back to smoke.
40 flavors of ice cream. Open till 9 daily....7 on Sundays. Great location. Plenty of indoor seating.
Owner was super friendly and it was pretty cool watching him make the waffle cones there to.
Their barking pretzel ice cream is delicious...peanut butter, chocolate covered pretzels....yum!
