El Charrito
Description
El Charrito is a hidden gem in Georgetown serving up top-notch Tex-Mex food at reasonable prices. The beef fajita tacos were a hit, as were the breakfast tacos from their take-out window. With generous portions, delicious flavors, and friendly staff, this place has been a staple for many locals over the years. While service may have been lacking at times due to understaffing, the overall dining experience was well worth it. This restaurant may be small and overlooked, but do not underestimate it! The food is fantastic, whether you're grabbing breakfast from the side window or dining inside. It has been consistently great all these years - I've been coming here since 1996, during my high school days.
I really appreciate the ambiance of this restaurant. The staff always welcomes you with a smile. The food is absolutely delicious.
I have been enjoying breakfast tacos from this take-out window for over 20 years, and they never disappoint! The tacos are generously filled and one can easily make a satisfying meal. It's hard to resist having just one, and it's equally difficult to choose just one type of taco! My top favorite is the migas taco, with the machacado taco coming in a close second. The chicken fajita taco is also wonderfully seasoned and perfect for lunch. The ordering process may be a bit confusing for first-timers, but the staff efficiently takes orders and manages the crowd. Make sure to ask if you're in line and don't forget to grab extra salsa, as it's delicious. A suggestion for the owner would be to offer corn tortillas for breakfast in addition to flour. Overall, this place has been a staple for a long time and still serves some of the best Tex-Mex tacos in town!
This was my first experience at a place that didn't quite live up to the hype. It came highly recommended by a guy who produces PBS shows about Texas. I know it's a local favorite, but maybe I should have spent more than just $3.19. It is what it is.
