I have dined here in the past, so it was interested to review it again under the new property. She refreshed the interior. Some of the same menu items, but many new things to try. I went to lunch, and there were always great things to choose, and everything was delicious. View all feedback.
What Cindy Rosset doesn't like about Cellar:
Spent $180+ for 2 people. Food was cold. A beta fish in a bowl under the Shrimp Cocktail (?! ugh). Plus, freezing in the restaurant! NO. Waitress forgot we ordered an expensive bottle of wine, came to ask us for wine order? Sorry, food was boring: 10oz NY cold, only salt on new potatoes, 1 asparagus spear, 2 pepper slices, bok choy... yawn. Did I mention the Beta Fish in the bowl under the Appie? Do not recommend. We went with no expectations...we found the staff extremely friendly and were blown away with the appetizers...I had the Mac and cheese with lobster...was absolutely delicious...I had the New York strip loin and it melted in my move..the potatoes and carrots were to die for...my friend had the lobster and said it was the best he ever had...if you have a chance, try this exceptional restaurant, you won't be disappointed...
If you are looking for a restaurant in Georgetown, Ontario with a unique atmosphere that serves delicious steaks, The Cellar is a great choice. I ordered the New York Striploin and my husband chose to have the ribeye. Both of the steaks were cooked to perfection and the side dishes (roast potatoes and carrots) were tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. There was an extensive wine selection as well as some creative martinis. Fun dessert options were also available, including a s'mores dip (which took half an hour to receive).Service was slow and not quite up to the standard I would have expected of a high calibre restaurant. It appeared that there was a staff shortage. I would like to give the staff the benefit of the doubt. The items on the menu are slightly expensive, but we found the prices to be fair, based on the quality. If you are looking for a romantic spot to enjoy a dinner on a special occasion, I would recommend The Cellar.
Awesome service.. staff are lovely.. we did have to ask for bread, 'im not sure if that is something that automatically comes with the meals, but i was surprised it wasn't brought to the table until we asked about 20 mins into the wait. Burger and beer night.. 20$ for a burger and beer.. its a crab patty with a homemade burger on a briochce bun.. big.. you have to take one of the patties off , it wont fit in ones mouth no matter how large your mouth is.. neither of us were really fussed about the crab.. you could def tell the meat and burger was homemade and good quality. kids cheese pizza was awesome.. large and tasty.. Caesar was delish, i like mine with a little more dressing so i will ask next time, as i found it very light on the dressing, a great recipe. my son had the sirloin.. omg it looked divine, i wished i had ordered it and fairly priced 39$ a good size comes with a veg and a few potatoes.. I did find it weird walking right by the kitchen and looking in to have to use the restrooms. They have tuesday night specilas that i think i will try . it was a nice experience 115.00 for 4 of us 1 stk i kids meal 2 burgers n beer.. so average price range. the guitarist who was playing in the background was amazing, just the right noise level. Very nice touch
We went here as many local people rave about the restaurant. The reviews seemed hit or miss - but sometimes you just have to go and see for yourself. The atmosphere is cool. Romantic, charming, and the live music (if you go when its on) is really cool. The service was (slower than we'd like) but overall just average, and the food the same. For the pricey nature of this restaurant, I'm not sure it was worth it. That said, the lobster mac'n cheese was excellent.I'd definitely go again, in hopes that the second time it will be better. There are too many positive reviews, so perhaps they just had an off night?
Spent $250 with tip..for three... mushroom soup was bland, signature cocktail was boring.. we called ahead and they gave us the worst table.. when we asked to move they said the other table was reserved but they gave it to the couple that walked in without a res. (I know because I overheard one of them say she hoped they had room) we still had to wait . We waited quite a bit actually.. for everything.
