The proprietor, Tom (the Drifter) welcomes you like family and runs the entire operation with full control. He never rests. These guys know all there is to know about rum and cocktails and will make sure you benefit from that knowledge and experience as well! These cocktails are really something else out of this world, as some would say. The attention to detail and level of care given to not just the drinks but the decor and even the menu and the pictures on the wall ensures this place being noticeably apart from the rest in terms of insanely good quality. There 's even a small shrine to Don the Beachcomber. But the main thing is just the cozy vibe and good mood Tom and the other bartenders give here. Make sure you snag a tiki mug while you 're there, or maybe even a bottle of the Drifter 's own rum? I had the immense pleasure to visit in the end of October '25, and I just wanna go back again!! Why isn 't this place where I live?

They are fully accommodating to allergies and special dietary restrictions. The location is surrounded by diverse ethnic restaurants and even a small brewery. Conveniently, you can park at the nearby station and take a tram or hop on the free electric minibus from Gent City to reach the bar.
