Tuk Thai Urban Kitchen - Genève

It is always surprising to me that in Asia you can have excellent fast food at airports, whereas in Europe they try selling Asian foods, but hardly succeed in making them taste like the original. Granted TUK is a street food style restaurants with ready-made wok dishes. But I've had lots of street food which I enjoyed very much. I ordered the pad thai, which sadly turned out to be a mistake. Should have gone for the curry. The pad thai only vaguely resembled this popular Asian dish. The noodles were overcooked and not warm enough. A very sad dish and way too expensive for this disappointment.

This is a warm plate operation but the food always seems fresh and full of colour and crunch. The flavours are zingy and the four main options vary regularly. If you want some more pep they offer chilli sauce, minced chillis (bought in or made on premises for extra zingaling) as well as soy sauce. The staff are friendly and when I have asked for a little more sauce they have always obliged. Compared to the other options at the food court this strikes me as the best value for money and probably the healthier choice.

The food was hugely overpriced for what was on offer. I had some cold prawns with some cold noodles in what was meant to be a salad. There were hardly any vegetables in the 'salad', however there were plenty of prawns. I had been tempted to get the tropical fruit smoothie but after seeing a staff member coughing over the selection set out I changed my mind. Eating the bowl of cold stodgy noodles I started to regret not going for the over priced burgers like everyone else in the departure lounge area. To my mind, this was not really Asian food.

As usual in an airport we won't eat cheap. This restaurant has a lot to offer, even if you're not vegetarian - you can appreciate their vegetarian cuisine. I took mix vegetable cuisine while my husband choose curry with shrimp. I appreciate both but I prefer my choice.If you take the buffet you have to eat elsewhere since the seat provided is not for client who took buffet.

Just another afternoon traveling from Geneva onwards. It was Ms. Cindy who assisted with selection of vegetarian food and what a taste!!! ???? If I ever transit thorough would definitely come back. ????
