Very well hidden, but it is worth making the effort to come here if you are on the lookout for some really decent Thai food (soups, pad Thai, curries, all good). As a bonus you can do some plane spotting during your meal, as the restaurant is sitting right next to the Geneva airport tarmac. In the summer you can sit on the terrace which is nice, especially the kids like it. The place also serves typical Swiss food, b... View all feedback.
What Lara Rohner doesn't like about Aero Bistro:
Having read all the glowing reviews we were looking forward to a good Thaï meal! Our meal looked like Thai but the taste was missing and I was surprised to see tomatoes in the tom kha kai soup! two starters and one poor Pad Thai...main course plus deci of rose and coffees came to euros, even though the cafe is in Suisse. Unsmiling service, uncomfortable metal chairs and basic cafe setting. View all feedback.
This pub is a paradise of the plane. Sit at the bar or on step seats to get a great view of the plane. Table service also if you can't move away from the action. The best bar in the airport.
I visit Geneva airport regularly and always go for this bistro. The hotel is located on one of the taxi routes and a great place to watch the planes. Very friendly great food hot and cold drinks served all day either inside or outside on the terrace. Appropriately expensive, even according to Swiss standards.
This place is great if you like aircraft as there is a great view of the action at Geneva Airport. It's Switzerland to make food and drink expensive. I had the green curry that was very good, but that and a coke will get you back 30 Swiss francs. Owners are very friendly and it is a great place to spend a few hours
Visited on a very busy day ate outside on the terrace. The Thai beef curry was very good, with plenty of tender slices of beef strips of vegetables in a flavourful sauce. A great place to eat if you like Thai food airplanes!
This little restaurant is off the beaten track and located just opposite the Geneva airport, with the actual runway as the only thing separating the 2. They make little advertisement and not easy to find unless you are actively looking for it. Car is almost a necessity to get there but they have plenty of parking. The place visibly spends little effort and money on decor and comfort and it´s rather kitsch inside with a mix of airline memorabilia, orchids (both fake and real) and the traditional thai wooded statues. If you are willing to look beyond all this, and the 2 little ratty dogs running all over which is what took me to the longest to get over, the food is simply divine and so very tasty. The cook (and I presume owner) cooks it all herself and she is often seen out in the restaurant time to chat and check if her food was appreciated. If you want any specific dish more or less spicy than indicated on the menu she is happy to accommodate. I had the red thai curry with beef and the portion size is more than enough and the pieces of meat are numerous, lean and perfectly thinly sliced. My fried had the green curry fish and said it had a very nice sting to it that correspondent to the '2 chilies ' indicated. It is clear to see and and taste that nothing is ready made or originates from frozen or canned. Their terrace is large and is right on the landing take off strip and fun to watch for people of all ages. Naturally it will be noisy and exposed to the elements but still pretty cool to be able to sit so close to the actual action.
