hidden gem! the walrus room has all the right ingredients for an excellent night with friends. the ambiente reminds us of the nightclubs that were so popular. quiet enough for a great talk. the menu selection both eating and drinking is excellent and the service is friendly and professional. we all ordered something different, and our waitress beat shady sides that complicated our meal times. great culinary experienc... What User doesn't like about The Walrus Room:
For the price you pay, you could get much nicer elsewhere. It wasn’t anything special. The server was great through and their house cocktail list was fair! It was nice, but I honestly don’t think we will return. The one thing that threw me off the most was we had a $200 tab for 2 (about 1 hr 10 min dining) and were rushed out because they informed us there was someone waiting on our table. View all feedback.
I have been coming here for years and this has become one of my favorite spots to bring friends for dinner. The staff is friendly, the food and drinks are always creative and delicious, and the space is so cool. Recently, my mom hosted my bridal shower here on a Sunday afternoon. Laura was amazing. She helped to customize a menu for us, create a signature drink, and was so patient with all of our questions. Everything was incredibly personalized. It was a great day. You guys are the best! Service is amazing here. Everyone is super attentive and invested in the guest. I don't eat meat and when our server found out there was ham in my choice, she told the chef, and the chef improvised something while maintaining the integrity of the original dish. THEN the chef (a woman, which is refreshing to see! herself came out to personally check on the flavor of the dish. You can't find service like that nowadays!! Our server told us it was her 3rd day but she was partnered w a more experienced server and instead of being clunky, our experience being waited on was flawless and seamless. Now, none of this does well unless you have the food to back it up. We started w the cheese curds which were *not* greasy nor heavy. The batter was light and they were as all fried cheese should be. Then we had the wedge and house salads; both were beautifully dressed. The wedge is absolutely decadent, you've been warned! Last we had the lobster spaghetti and the scallops. Divine. Finished off w the cheesecake which is baked and so good. Definitely a place w fresh, good food and top notch service. The decor is fun and classy at the same time. Everything we were serve was absolutely delicious minus cream of asparagus soup. It wasn’t cream, very watery. Portions are hit or miss. Fish fry was very nice big portion while trout or walleye were ridiculously small. I would expect way more than a tiny piece of fish for $30+ What was missing was some nice bread with butter before dinner. Will I come back, most likely, for a fry fish on Friday or a hamburger, it looked huge and delicious on other table. Friday at 6pm. Food was good. Atmosphere is unbelievably loud . Do not expect to have a nice quiet conversational dinner. For the price, they do not provide an enjoyable fine dining experience. Overpriced for the mediocre dining experience.
