Jurin is the best spot for hibachi cuisine in the area. For a reasonable price, one gets quick, snappy service in a relaxed atmosphere. And the cooking of the food itself is a sight to behold. From onion volcanoes to catching shrimp in my mouth, it's a wonderful experience. I had never heard of this place before until now, and believe me when I tell you that I'll defiantly try to come here a lot more now. I'd recomme... View all feedback.
What Maxine Will doesn't like about Jurin Japanese Restaurant:
So bummed!! Went last Saturday for my birthday. The food and chef were great. Server was very rude. We tipped the cook and her separately and she complained that it wasn't enough and not fair the cook got more. We had to ask for a refill on our drinks and she rolled her eyes. View all feedback.
Delicious every time! reserve a place at the Hibachi table and will entertain them before they eat the very good food.
I came to lunch today. I was thrilled to try a new sushi location and it had good reviews. I went with the sushi sashimi lunch special 16 with a side of edamame 4 . the portions were surprisingly small. I know that the roll size can vary from location to location, but that was clearly a money saving movement on the side of the chef and or managements. what I tasted to write nothing at home, but I was starving. I saw my waiter twice; when he commanded me, and when he gave me that. what makes this a problem is that I never got the edamame. I couldn't ask him because I never saw him. I always deal with such problems, but I was one of 4 people all over the place. He brought me my scary, and I asked him to remove the edamame. he made a face and asked if it was not to be mine? I told him I didn't know because it never happened. he didn't apologize. He didn't try to do it right. he said, oh and then he removed it from my bill. for the number of employees who are present twice the number of diners, I would have expected an amazing service. I was wrong. Conclusion: save her money and try something else. at least until they get their act together. that or never go to lunch. I interrupted the new training.

We've been going to JuRin for well over a decade, and I'm sorry to say that last night may be our last visit other than carryout sushi . We arrived at 4:40PM on a Sunday without a reservation note: if you want cooking tables, make a reservation and they were already filling up. There was availability to sit our family of 4 with a family of 5 the cooking tables comfortably seat 8 so we agreed to cram in. While the chef at the table across from ours was doing some tricks and fun things for the kids, our chef didn't talk, didn't look at us, and didn't bother to do ANYTHING fun at the table despite the fact that 5 9 of the diners were kids and we had told them it was my son's birthday. The food wasn't up to our usual standard. Our chef did not season the rice, ridiculously overcooked my husband's egg yolk shrimp to the point of it being almost inedible, and was just generally sloppy with everything. Service for drinks and refills was also slow. It feels like they never quite rebounded from the pandemic. The place still draws a crowd and it was busy when we left so clearly people still enjoy it, but it no longer meets our standards for an expensive meal out. Plus my son age 7 who has celebrated his birthday there in years past and who requested to go last night didn't get the experience he expected no singing, no photo, no coupon to come back next year. He got a plate of fruit slammed down in front of him. We're moving on to try some of the hibachi restaurants in Naperville next time. Disappointing.
The food and chef were amazing. Chef came running around to get us a to go box and extra soy sauce and ginger to go. Why the chef because the waiter sucked. He looked our way multiple times and it was obvious we needed refill on drinks or something and ignored our table most of the time. Again food and hats off to the chef.
