We ate at the „Le Tilleul“ after visiting „La Bambouseraie“. It has a cute terrace. The dishes served are simple but very tasty and cheap. The staff is friendly and nice, but totally disorganized (we skipped dessert because all took so long).
Good locally sourced food, cooked well, served well. Staff went out of their way to help with our poor French! Good atmosphere, small village environment. Altogether a good dining experience.
Visited the restaurant 28th july with friends, 4 adults and 4 kids. Excellent restaurant with good local French Food. Very authentic, lots of good taste, kind and charming service, and value for money! Would definitely recommend this.
We came here on a Sunday lunchtime, when we were staying nearby in Anduze, and all other restaurants that we had been to before were full. (Note to self the French like to dine out on a Sunday so book in advance! This is now in our book as a firm favourite we had the €17 plat desert, which was a delightful entrecôte with great roasted vegetables, and the most flavoursome gravy/jus. Sitting on a lovely terrace, lunch was a leisurely affair, washed down with a chilled white. The maitre'd was very good and attentive, and also spoke good English, whilst we continued in our attempts at French! Desert was a rich chocolate fondant with crime anglais no room available for coffee. Generargues is a delightful little town in a beautiful area we will definitely be back to this piece of it.
Here in the south of France, Lennie consistently serves fantastic French country cooking all summer long. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting with ample outdoor seating but you often find it full in the summer, so call ahead for a reservation. A talented chef, Lennie makes everything herself. We've enjoyed her dinners of duck, beef, pork, pasta, fish and more. Not to speak of the beautiful bread, configures and coffees. Her wine selection is simply magnificent; ask for help to find the wine you want. Le Tilleul even has a limited number of guest rooms for true foodies. I imagine heaven for foodies may be like this restaurant, where it's just a few steps to the next great meal.
