The Independent - GEMBROOK

Great sunday lunch for an event. We had the set menu which was reasonably priced and the food was plentiful for sharing. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. Add a great space and atmosphere in a quaint town that is Gembrook and this is a winner. Worth the drive!

We had the winter special lunch here on a cold wet Friday in August. The restaurant was warm and welcoming and the staff were very switched on. The food was fantastic - 5 dishes providing a range of flavours followed by the lemon tart dessert. Very satisfying.

After a great Sunday lunch here a few months ago, my husband and I decided to celebrate our 50th at the Independent. We had an amazing night. Jessica did a fantastic job organising all the details and she provided excellent advice on food and wine, and on other things we could do to make it a memorable night. We have had nothing but wonderful feedback from our family and friends on the amazing food, great service and atmosphere. It was a very special night and The Independent played an important part in that.

Saturday night dinner with extended family. Was not sure what to expect being in the hills but was surprised to find a bustling restaurant with a great vibe.Menu was superb and we had a good selection from the entree and main sections.The beef ribs and Lamb Shoulder were some standout dishes though the overall quality and preparation was superb. Prices were very reasonable ...including the reasonably priced wines.This is one restaurant really worth visiting. We'll be back! The other thing to note was the professional service and attention...every person we dealt with was excellent.

Absolutely outstanding. Waiter was delightful, helpful explained menu well. Food was amazingly delicious. Good size serves. Definitely will return
