Atmosphere was quiet, warm and... read more Caught up with friends here on a cold and wet Sunday morning. As soon as you enter, your greeted with a smile and great service. Atmosphere was quiet, warm and welcoming. We had the scones. Soft and fluffy. Jam was delicious. Coffee was good too. Great place, hard to find parking as the area is very popular and the crowds were out and about, as usual so I was told, even though the weather was pretty ordinary. I'd imagine the area would be very crowded if the weather was more appealing. So I would say to allow for waiting time to be seated. But I'd recommend this place. If we go back there, I'd be more than happy to eat here again.

We had... read more Today my wife and I decided to take a trip to the Dandenongs and upon viewing places we decided on sassafras cafe the service was excellent and friendly. We had lunch and Devonshire tea. We had the sassy burger and the soup special both were delicious. We then had coffee and scones which were perfect. Over all it was a great experience and we will definitely be back.

The staff were friendly and suggested ordering just one serving for two people (I was initially going to order two servings/four scones since they were generously sized - they were correct. The scones were delightful, fluffy, and made fresh on the premises. Rod was cheerful and even shared some interesting information about the surrounding area. I would definitely return in the future.
