Aha..ICF in Ludhiana!!! That was my first reaction. I couldn't believe that I had stayed in this city for close to three years and still wasn't aware of the existence of this place. Not that am a great fan of ICF but the brand has that nostalgia of childhood memories. In mid 80's when weekend meant shopping/movie, a stroll in sec-17 and lunch at ICF (Chandigarh). With jaw dropping prices and fixed menu across locations... View all feedback.
Their masala dosa is an absolute eye opener. It sets you thinking ...about the great Indian diversity story. The humble masala dosa comes through as a great unifier as it delivers great taste and crunchiness... but with a Punjabi twist! Like the good old maggie ketchup advert stated... 'It 's different! '. This is a world away from the authentic south Indian flavour youve known. Yet it 's still a masala dosa... with a pagdi. The chutney and sambar will make you sit up and take notice. The potatoes in the dosa reveal flavours that are more ludhianvi that tamil. Yet it is satisfying. The cutlets are three times as big. And service is prompt. No complaints. Just a feeling of comfort that you 're part of the great Indian diversity story. Three cheers.
Paneer Masala dosa is yummiest here n coffee too... Its an old place and not so beautifully decorated but south indian food here is bestest... One must try delicious dishes here.
I am partial towards this place.. i had my first dosa.. paper dosa here when I was very young, probably 3 years old, and today Iam 30.. my favourite is their egg dosa.. just love it.. staff is good.. friendly atmosphere.. earlier it used to be the go to place for dosa eaters in the city, although with the passage of time several other joints have opened up which serve dosa but nothing beats the Indian coffee house's dosas.. infact nobody else makes egg dosa.. egg dosa- highly recommended..
One of the most retro places to give you that nostalgia... Simple, hygienic and affordable food.<br/ <br/ Unfortunately, closed down; <br/ Bring it back!!
Indian coffee house This is a chain of breakfast cafes run by coffee workers association of india. It is located front of the AC market and at the back side of sarovar portico.<br/ <br/ I believe not many people are aware about this amazing joint. The plain furniture, menu printed on a board in plain fonts, minimal interiors take you back in time when things were simple and lovely. After entering the cafe, you feel like having travelled in space time to another era. <br/ <br/ Now coming to food, the cheese omelette I tried today was amazing, and the smell and taste of filter coffee takes you to a ride of south india. I am planning to visit this place more frequently to try other items as well. Amazing place for a lazy sunday brunch. I would say this is a welcome change from 'Naturals ' and 'Basants ' of ludhiana
