What Twan Mol doesn't like about The Federal Cafe Restaurant Bar:
We were extremely disappointed by what was on the handwritten menu. We understand that thanks to COVID menus may be reduced but the basic meals were nothing like the menu on their website which they should have stressed online. They also only had one menu so we had to wait to view it. No prices were listed so we had to ask. Ended up only having coffee and going to nearby cafe to eat instead. View all feedback.
Pretty disappointing night. The food was cold (though delicious). I had to wait for our meals for ages. The place was quiet, lack of ambience. Give it a miss ....
Went to lunch to see the new place in the city. I really wanted it's good ... obviously a fair investment was made in the place. They made it good, it looks good ... but the food was a massive stuffed. The double Pattie burger was tasteless and dry. The pizzas were under cooked ... the bases soft / muddy. If you have raised one to look at the bottom, it had no color you expect from a wood fire, but instead looked like dough, which was partially cooked. Only one of the two steaks who ordered our ordered group had actually been cooked medium ... and again not much taste. I hope you can sort out your food soon because otherwise it would be a good place. Wish you the best. The service was also ok, what was a busy midday.
Pizza was not bad the day we went to. Eggs Benedict was good, but not enough for the price of 16.50, if I remember! Orange juice was definitely not "freshly squeezed" irrigated. Nice atmosphere!
Super friendly staff, very aesthetically pleasing but most importantly awesome menu, delicious fresh and good quality food! Will definitely return here!
The Federal Cafe restaurant is a fantastic recent addition to GEELONG dining especially in the North GEELONG area. The architecture and size is strikingly beautiful.Inside the building has been tastefully decorated and modernised. Whilst huge it is cleverly compartmentalised into many different areas including booths, function room, Bar Area and Dining as well as a beautiful outdoor area.Menu is modern and very reasonably priced’. Coffee is excellent and service is friendly and efficient.Natalie the owner is always on hand meeting and greeting in a very stylish manner.Recommended you check out this stylish venue!
