Description

Caruggi, an Italian restaurant in Geelong, has received a mix of reviews from customers. Some have praised the delicious food, such as the mussels, beetroot gnocchi, and pesto spaghetti, while others have complained about issues like undercooked pasta and cold desserts. The service, while polite, has been inconsistent for some diners, with some feeling a disconnect between the wait staff and the overall dining experience. There were also complaints about the alcohol service and the lack of attention to detail in certain dishes. Despite this, others have raved about the authentic Italian cuisine, friendly service, and overall atmosphere of the restaurant, dubbing it the best Italian spot in Geelong. The restaurant offers a variety of traditional Italian dishes, with highlights including the quail main course, the pumpkin truffle risotto, and the Tiramisu dessert. While there may be room for improvement in some areas, Caruggi remains a popular choice for those looking for a taste of Italy in Geelong.

Eat here for the first time. It was very direct that this place was special. The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful and very reminiscent of northern Italy. The staff was very friendly, but not bold friendly, what was, I'm embarrassing to say, credible. I had the guard that was special these days and it was absolutely divine! I had no quail for 14 years and it flooded my memories of the wonderful time I had in Europe many years ago! I will definitely return in the future as this really feels like a nice little piece of northern Italy.
