Reviews summary
Nestled in a picturesque setting, this restaurant offers a mixed dining experience. While some guests rave about the spectacular slow-cooked rib of beef, delicious pies, and friendly service, others lament subpar meals—particularly during festive occasions. The atmosphere, described as warm and inviting by many, occasionally suffers from less desirable seating arrangements and cleanliness issues. Nonetheless, the accommodating staff strive to enhance the dining experience, providing attentive service and a welcoming vibe. With dog-friendly options and a promising cocktail selection, this venue has potential, yet consistency seems to be the key challenge for future visits.

What Sonia Davis dislikes about Hutt:
we really enjoyed our fillet steaks for our high-time day and traveled quite far for them, but I'm afraid we were a little disappointed by the whole experience. the table was near the toilets and it felt like we were in a corridor, but they allowed us to move. the presentation of the price warns briiliant we have much less paid for a better atmosphere and meal sorry we will be back soon View all feedback.

This was a lovely place, the staff were friendly and welcoming and found us a space. The food was delicious and a good size so we were very happy with that. The building itself was very nice and had a very relaxed atmosphere, which was perfect after a long walk. All in all I would say this place is a great place to visit and would suggest it to everyone.

Incredible. From beginning to end. Flawless!!!! The pork belly was the best I've ever had. We will definitely return!
We met up with friends at this restaurant for Sunday lunch and had an amazing dining experience. The staff were friendly and provided fantastic service, going above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable. The highlight of the meal was definitely the 7-hour slow-cooked rib of beef, which was absolutely spectacular.
We had a wonderful evening at the restaurant. Initially, we were seated in a cramped space that made it difficult for all six of us to sit at the table comfortably. However, the staff did make an effort to rearrange the table so that we could all fit. Despite a longer than usual wait for our food, the rest of the experience was excellent.
Went there for Christmas Dinner. Confirmed the specific seats 6 weeks prior and again the day before only be told we were stuck in the back with no fire by the kitchen with nothing they could do about it despite us having confirmed twice that we were to be in the main toasty warm atmospheric main room. Service was rude and slow. When we stated our issue the staff were completely unapologetic and unbothered computer say no . We asked for other fire to be put on, which they did and then let go out within 10 minutes. Food was nice even if we did have to see the chef come out and throw a strop and things about at the servers. Service slow (but it was a busy Christmas day that could of been overlooked if we were seated in the warm) drinks requests needed to be reminded. All in all kinda ruined Christmas day. Won 't doing that again. Edit: amazing customer service to make up for this. Makes me think is was a blip rather than the norm. So edited my review

We came for Christmas dinner, the food was great and we had a lovely time. Lisa, karen and the team were rushed off their feet but managed to cater all of our needs. The place was decorated lovely and everyone was given Christmas crackers. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again next year.
£78 per head x4 Christmas Day Meal. Hands down THE worse meal we 've ever had. Place is dirty, service very poor. Not one bit Chrimassy, stuck in a cold corner with four rubbish crackers chucked on a dirty sticky table. It was bad and just went down rapidly. In fact, by the time dessert came, being so bad, we actually had to laugh. Would definitely NOT recommend. I 'll be honest, I 'd had the best meal I 'd ever had there a couple of years ago and couldn 't wait. Totally destroyed our Christmas spirit and wallets to boot. All I could hear around us was the stay saying 'sorry about that ' over and over.
Went for Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day at a cost of just under £80 each. (3 people) Obviously under staffed and we were placed in a corner out of the way, this seemed to not help in getting served or being asked for drinks, we had to go to the bar at the other side of pub to get our own drinks. Food was poor to mediocre being generous, we wouldn’t visit for Christmas Day again. I appreciate it must be difficult to get staff at this time of the year but if you are advertising this type of service then should be able to fulfil.
We had our works Christmas meal for 20 people at The Hutt. Kayte, Karen and the team were so helpful. The food on the day was amazing and we all had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and kind. We had a great time. Thanks guys. Would highly recommend. Great atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble.

Earlier we loved going here when it was the old chef brewer chain. but recently something happened to these places and I don't know what it is.
Second time to eat here for a birthday party absolutely beautiful meal I cannot recommend this place enough
Really lovely, tasty, hot meal. The chicken and leek pie was delicious and nicely presented. Creamy mash and selection of vegetables. Gravy served in a jug. Lovely warm atmosphere. Good selection of different gins. Staff very friendly. Special mention to Georgia, who was lovely and attentive. Very helpful and chatty, gave the impression that she genuinely wanted us to have a pleasant experience. She should train other waitresses in other restaurants, who are not so professional. Would definitely recommend The Hut.
Great service loved eating the huh and mushroom cake is for willing to go back to death
Lovely building, staff and food. Service was so quick! We booked for 5:15pm via the website, we arrived at 5 and were seated early. Was so impressed with the minimal time between courses and it was a pleasure to be seen to so quickly, staff were really on the ball. Sharing starter was our favourite part of the meal, that salt and pepper squid was lovely! pictures: Sharing starter platter Lamb cutlets (weekly special) Mandarin cake with raspberry sorbet(weekly special) Apple and blackberry crumble Will be going back for sure, price is on the higher-midrange, but certainly worth it. update We went again, and it was just as great as last time
