I had a wonderful dining experience in a beautiful, tranquil setting. I ordered the fish and chips, which were fantastic. I also really enjoyed the bread pudding. I highly recommend this place. They have an extensive beer selection along with a variety of wines and spirits. View all feedback.

I understand that we arrived without a reservation as a large group, and I apologized for that. However, the owner graciously stepped outside to tell us he would be happy to accommodate us, acknowledging that it might take some time. Food was pretty good. Took forever to get food. There were two other tables and it was 1:15 after we ordered. To be fair their sign says so. I thought it was owner and waiter doing everything so I was more understanding. When we left I saw three additional people in the kitchen and was blown away. Anyway food was good and reasonably priced. Menu was a little confusing because it said pick a side but everything but fries was extra. I would give it a try but be patient.
Just Wow! We were visiting the area and went to this pub as it has great reviews. The Google listing said they were open at 5pm we arrived shortly after that and as I stated in my first review they were closed up tighter than a drum. There were no messages on the door stating anything about hours and as tourists how were we supposed to know they had another restaurant. So the owner puts the blame on me because we didn't ask questions. Ask questions to who? I received a nasty response and told I was selfish in saying the place was closed up on a Friday night. I merely wanted to save others the trip to find the place, which wasn't easy, by the way, when the google listing had it wrong. How are tourists supposed to know what local businesses are doing. I hope you get your business and attitude straight and stop labeling people.
A little late on my review (we visited in May 2022). Due to our own poor timing, we showed up just a few minutes before the kitchen closed. Only the owner was on staff at the time, but he welcomed us, took great care of us, served up wonderful authentic food, and let us look around the soon-to-be-opened annex (more bar, less restaurant). We'll be back!
Needs a new business model — cheers! I will definitely be frequenting the other delicious local restaurants with no wait, fresh food, and amazing service. I highly recommend Red Oak Bistro!
