We decided to try the lo mein pasta and herbal yellow curry with white rice, based on the recommendations in the reviews. I inquired about getting the fried rice without eggs, but unfortunately it was not possible as it was already prepared. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about vegan options. What User doesn't like about North China:
I ordered the tofu yellow curry with sweet and white rice. The rice was perfectly cooked, but the tofu was a bit bland. I liked the sauce, but wished there was more of it. The staff was friendly, but they hovered around our table and spoke loudly about the restaurant, which was a bit distracting. View all feedback.
The food was ok. They all were masks and respect the max capacity of occupants even if half the room is empty. We tried the tofu casserole $15) and it was ok, not delicious but enough for a dinner. Fried rice with veggies and no eggs was satisfying as well. Credit card doesn’t work so only accept cash..
Great service and good food. I had the general tso tofu with a side of white rice. I also got fried rice with no egg. I made sure with them that I wanted no animal products and went through the list of things that I did not want. They understood and brought out my food quickly. Not the best chinese food I have had but big portions and definitely good especially amongst the lack of options in gatlinburg. I went back the next day to get some more. Highly recommend!
We decided to try the lo mein pasta and herbal yellow curry with white rice, based on the recommendations in the reviews. I inquired about getting the fried rice without eggs, but unfortunately it was not possible as it was already prepared. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about vegan options. Overall, the staff were attentive and the tofu was cooked perfectly - not soggy. The sauces were flavorful and we were pleasantly surprised when we had to pay in cash because there were no signs indicating otherwise. Although the restaurant claimed to have poor internet connection for card transactions, we noticed the staff using their phones to watch videos. The prices were a bit on the high side, but we would consider returning to try other dishes in the future.
I ordered the tofu yellow curry with vegetables and white rice. The rice was prepared well but the tofu was a bit soggy. I liked the sauce but wished there was more of it. The staff were friendly, but they were a bit intrusive, working on bills at the table right behind us and chatting loudly across the room.
I was initially hesitant to visit this restaurant due to the reviews, but after giving it a try, I believe some of them were overly critical. The service was prompt, the food was tasty, and the prices were reasonable. It's worth noting that gratuity is automatically added to the bill, and the staff was accommodating in explaining the charges. Contrary to one review, there are combo meals available on the menu. While the waitress may not have been overly friendly, she was not impolite either. Running a restaurant can be challenging, and I appreciate the effort put in by the staff despite the long hours and any difficult customers they may encounter. Overall, I was pleased with my dining experience and will return in the future to enjoy a less crowded atmosphere.
